Sunday school students have fun learning about being Jewish! Bring your 4-6 year old children to learn with other Jewish students in the area in our warm and friendly synagogue setting. Every Sunday morning during the school year, your kids will engage in three hours of fun and experiential learning that will introduce them to the elements of Shabbat, the Jewish calendar and our rich and complex Jewish heritage.

Miss Rachel presents a creative approach to learning through art, music, drama, computer games and learning sites and her personal teaching style. The younger children join the bigger kids for morning prayers and snack time so they can see what growing up Jewish really means. Even our youngest students can then participate in special student led services and programs that are held throughout the year in and around our Jewish community.

Our Hebrew School is well known for developing students both academically and spiritually. Our excellent teaching staff has developed an integrated teaching plan that covers Jewish heritage, Israel and culture, and advanced Hebrew in a way that makes bar/bat mitzvot who are more than ready for their big day, with less stress on the whole family! Whether your student is preparing for bar/bat mitzvah, or just exploring Judaism, our innovative curriculum incorporates ideas that will result in the most positive learning experience for the children. Moreover, our students return year after year to expand their understanding of Judaism and Hebrew. School instruction is a balanced approach of classroom learning enriched by music, holiday art, guest teachers, community trips, cooking, dancing, playwriting/drama, model Seders. Friday night dinners/service, ‘the outside classroom’ and other learning opportunities.

The synagogue recognizes that maintaining such an excellent program requires constant investment, so they have chosen to make our school a priority, which has as resulted in tripled enrollment in recent years.

School is in session on Sundays from 9am – noon and Tuesdays from 4-6pm. In addition, students are encouraged to attend Shabbat morning services and cement their understanding in a practical way.

Throughout the year, Beth El creates every possible opportunity to ensure a well-rounded Jewish education for their students within a safe environment. Our students, mostly from Atlantic and Cape May Counties bond with each other and create lasting friendships.
