Rabbi Krauss

Rabbi Aaron Krauss was born in Bridgeport, Conn., the only child of Max and Ida Krauss. He attended Barnum Public School in Bridgeport-after which he attended Salanter Yeshiva in the Bronx and Rabbi Jacob Joseph Yeshiva on the Lower East Side. He then attended Talmudic Academy High School in New York and Rabbi Isaac Elhanan followed by Yeshiva University where he received his BA degree. Rabbi received his rabbinical ordination, Master of Hebrew Literature and Doctor of Divinity from the Jewish Theological Seminary by 1978. He also pursued graduate studies at Columbia University.

As a Navy Chaplin, he served at Treasure Island in San Francisco and later with the Third
Marine Division on Okinawa, Taiwan and in Southern Japan. While at the seminary, Rabbi Krauss served as a student Rabbi at Knesset Israel Synagogue in Pittsfield, Mass. He then became Rabbi at Princeton Jewish Center. Rabbi Krauss came to Atlantic City in 1962 as Rabbi of Community Synagogue in Atlantic City where he served until 1983. In 1983 until 2003, Rabbi Krauss has been the Rabbi of Beth El Synagogue in Margate, New Jersey.

Also to his credit, Rabbi Krauss was the founding chairman of the Greater Atlantic City Human Relations Forum, founding president of Atlantic Human Resources. He has been President of Zionist Organization of America-Mid Atlantic Region from 1989 to present. He was President of South Jersey Board of Rabbis for three terms, President of Trocki Hebrew Academy and Chairman of the Board of Trocki Hebrew Academy 1990. Rabbi Krauss was instrumental in creating The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Pomona, New Jersey and is on their Board of Trustees and an Adjunct Professor at the college. He has also won numerous awards on the local and national level. Rabbi Krauss has also published articles on various topics and is now in the process of writing a book on the history of Jews in Lithuania.

Rabbi Krauss resides in Margate with his wife, Mildred (Zwang) Krauss. They are the parents of Sara Krauss Braverman, Esq., her husband Roger Braverman and their daughter Mira, Dr. Joel Krauss, his triplets, Adam, Rebecca and Hannah.
